Its head, shoulders, chest, backpack feature the upgraded parts utilized in the MG Deep Striker release and also features additional new parts for the abdomen. S Gundam can be built as is or can be converted into its Ex-S form and maintains its ability to transform into its G-Cruiser mode, G-Core, G- Attacker, and G-Bomber forms.

A kit worth the wait and treasure
Now a little backstory with my purchase here. I bought and built the Mk. V last summer and went to an anime con searching for this model as I wanted to have the rival suit. Sadly no one at the con had one present so I waited and bide my until this became available. Flash forward to late September when I get the notification that Newtype had one. It only took me less than a minute to decide and I pulled the trigger on this model. Now, i waited a week to build it as I wanted it to be my Birthday build on the 12th of October. Little did I know I would spend the next 10 hours constructing this behemoth.
The model itself is a piece of art, comprising parts from four other models over seventeen years to essentially give us a ver. 1.5 model. The plastic quality is good and range of motion is decent for being a massive brick. I do love that you build on top of a display base as the model itself is enormously back-heavy. Tons of screws are used in the model, so lots of time needed for that.
Now, when I bought this kit, I knew from the start that I was going to build the Ex-S as i prefer it. And boy was I not disappointed with the end result. The sculpting is superb on the model and the colors are awesome. I did some painting here and there, mostly in the targeting sensors and cameras. A metric ton of panel lining went into the build, which fairly drained my jar of Tamiya panel lining ink. But it looks amazing.
Now, it can transform but I have chosen the stance of not trying to. Too many things can go wrong and I am more than content in leaving it as is. This is a centerpiece model, taking up a huge place on a bookcase and looking stunning even if by itself. Its not often we get kits that just exude shelf presence like this beast.
If you can get your hands on one, do NOT hesitate on it, don't sit on it. Don't think, DO!!!

Shows its age but makes up for it
Being one of the few kits that is a 1.5, it definitely shows its age in some of the older runners that are used. As well as some of the screws that are used. Despite this, the kit itself still holds up very well in aspects of the build, as well as how you can choose the S or Ex-s gundam. overall Great kit, just pick up some water slides for added detail
